When we were already in the taxi, I immediately checked on the D60 and I was getting worried when it did not turn on. If it was low batt, it would still turn on and turn off again. But it had no sign of any “life” and I thought in less than a year, it was damaged. I called hubby when we were waiting for our turn at the doc clinic. I told him what happened and he asked me if it was on when I tested it first. Yah I remembered the power dial was on when I got it out. So crossing our fingers, we just hope it was empty batt. I already planned of going to Camera Haus in SM City Davao where we bought the D60 to have it checked. I was worried coz the money I had which I thought would be an allowance for the trip to Cebu would be spent to buy another one or for the repair but that would take a month and our trip will be in a few days from now. Huhuhu…
I was so worried this morning and when we met hubby this afternoon after his work at GS CitiMall, he immediately inspected it and saw no physical damage and so he just suspected it was just empty batt. And when we got home, he immediately tested our other ENL9 battery and it turned on much to our relief. I took a let out a deep sigh of relief. Thank God! At least we won’t have to spend our money getting it fixed nor getting a new one at this time which is not within our plan. We did want to get a new DSLR body but do not have the budget yet. But getting a new one because the existing one was damaged just days before Sinulog 2009 is simply not what we expected nor wanted.
Maybe we really need to buy a small camera bag dedicated just for the cam so that we can handle it better unlike putting it in one bag with the rest of the stuff that we carry with us when we go out. For now, I am just so relieved.
