Look! Look!

When we were still in the hospital’s junior suite room where we stayed since there was no more available private room during that time, the little boy happen to wake up the next day, stood on his bed and he saw the view of the city from the window since we open wide the curtain. He kept saying, “Look! Look!” over and over again pointing outside. So I pointed out the places and building. I wish we have a binocular and am sure the little boy will have fun looking at those places looking so near yet so far. If we have been on a higher floor, we would probably have a more beautiful view of the city. Next time we will try to the highest floor to the adjacent medical tower.

New Computer Set

Finally hubby got a new computer set! Last Saturday, I got him the PC monitor first since that was the first one that broke down and died on him last June 8. We bought a Samsung 18.5″ wide LCD monitor from TT in SM out of the blessings that I got lately. This is a lil bit smaller than his old LG 19″ wide LCD monitor. He did promise though and I hold on to that promise that he will refund it so that I can have an additional savings for me and the lil boy.

Last Sunday, I was at one point telling hubby that he might want to get one of the pink, white and red colored netbooks that I was browsing online. We also saw the white netbook that I could only wish for now. Little did we know that day his CPU this time would bug down last Sunday. So we have to borrow some money from my savings and hopefully he will also fulfill his promise to replace it as soon as the expected blessings will come next month. Last Monday, we got the CPU with a discount from one of our principal sponsors in our wedding who works in a computer store. Plus we added a new keyboard with rounded edge that has very soft keys with a free mouse. This new computer set anyway has long been anticipated anyway. I cannot remember well but hubby said the set was more or less four years old already. So I guess it is but high time to get a new one.

Miss My Lappy

I miss my laptop which has been my constant companion in my work at home. I am using the PC desktop right now since I left my lappy at my sis’ house. It’s different using the PC coz the files am used to using are not here. I am not used to using this keyboard too. If this was food it sounds so crunchy and noisy. I hope my sis C will be able to bring it here early tomorrow morning so I can work smoothly back again tomorrow. Though am also trying to have some rest since I am finished with all my tasks except for one more which will be due on Friday yet. I miss you lappy! But I missed my son more but we’re together again unlike my lappy.

Locked

When I met my nephews and niece a few days ago, I noticed that my eldest nephew already has a cellphone. I wish we had the same network though but that phone handed down from his mom (my sis) is locked. As much as we both wish he has an unlocked phone so I can let him use my extra SIM card, no that won’t be possible for now unless we can have it unlocked so that we can use it. That same day, I was also scouting for an unlocked cellphone of a particular model. But it seems it is only available in two particular stores. Hope I can fins it among the hot buys at an online store which sells unlocked cell phones that can also be used with many other GSM service providers/carriers around the world just like the one my elder sister gave our youngest sis. We may just have to find a way to unlock it or else just let it be for now. Unless our sis abroad will once again give us one of her cellphones there.

Weak Signal

I dunno but i noticed that people calling me through cellphone cannot hear me when I receive their calls inside the house. the same thing happens with hubby. I thought it was just the particular network but when I was still working in an office building, many office tenants there also experience the same problem regardless of network. So the solution that was thought of then was to get a cell phone signal booster. There are in-building cellular dual-band solutions intended for high rise buildings offices, for warehouse, or even for the home just like in our case when the cellphone signal is weak inside and you have to go outside to hear people calling you.

Solve this problem with complete systems from small to large that will boost your cell phone signal in those places mentioned. Good thing then, the building admin installed those signal boosters. Can you imagine if you are in the 8th floor and you have to tell your client to please call back coz you need to go out of the building to get a clear cellphone signal if the case maybe? Really inconvenient and you’d waste time and cellphone load often times trying to hear out people on the other line.

EHD

My 320GB WD EHD cable connection seem to be not working well lately and it makes me think I might need to save up for a new external hard drive if the cable does not get fixed. I had done some backup withn our photos moving them back to my laptop just in case I would at least save some files in case it suddenly gives up on me but am still hoping it won’t. I saw a Western Digital 1TB My Book Essential USB 2.0 External Hard Drive online and it was one sale and a lot cheaper than the one we bought in a local store. I hope by the time, I really need to buy a new EHD, its price would be lower. A 2TB would be great, we could store lots of file, photos, music and movies in there.

Back Up

Still on the process of copying photo file folders for back-up from my WD portable HD to my laptop. The WD is acting up lately. Sometimes it won’t be detected anda little sensitive that when you move it slighty, it will be disconnected. So I continued to copy back up of our photos just in case. But I hope the WD won’t give up just yet.

Hoping

Hoping that the grocery won’t be packed with many people tomorrow since it is a holiday and a day before new year’s eve. Usually at this time there are less people at the grocery buying food and stuff for their new year celebration. The lines won’t be long I hope and thank goodness for technology such as those barcode scanner that make life easier and faster when lining up in the cashier to pay the food and stuff you buy in the grocery. I remember during the old days when the cashier still has to punch everything one by one and it takes up much more time and it will take you so much time to wait in line. Going to the grocery during the holiday rush then is sweet torture to one’s feet. I hope so too that I will be able to do the errands tomorrow morning as planned to catch up with the bank as well.

Secure Our Home During the Holidays

Out of the blue, hubby and I suddenly talked about finding a way to secure our place especially during these holidays when we might be almost always out trying to enjoy the holidays bonding outside. During these times, we should be more careful coz during these hard times in our economy there are also some people who take advantage that people may be not in their homes. It would be great to have one of those security cameras that will track intruders when we’re not at home and will record whatever might happen in case someone tried to break into our place. what gave us an idea is when he was telling me a story about a movie where they have a camera that records what happens when they are asleep at night.

Upgrade

I had to discuss with hubby if it would help to upgrade my laptop memory since someone told me it is one of the best ways to improve speed and performance of my laptop. I have been noticing that my lappy seems slower now than when I was using it when it was still new. I have to check this out with hubby as I was not able to talk to him about this when he got home from work. Buy.com has some holiday deals on this which I saw this morning while browsing through their site for something else I have been looking for.
