It’s gonna be a busy Saturday for us today. The little boy will have his first solo tutorial with his summer class teacher. While I am off to attend a blogger event, a press con which I think will be my first press con event to attend ever since. I usually skip this kind of event before. I want to try attending one so here it is later today.

It also happens to be the first anniversary of Abreeza Mall. There is a meet up from a FB group of a forum I follow. I am not quite sure to attend that but maybe we could drop or pass by where they will meet.

We want to check out what is in store there later. But we had planned a dinner- bonding time with my boys at one of our fave resto there as part of my Mother’s Day ala weekend celebration. We started it yesterday and will end tomorrow which is Mother’s Day. I skipped a plan to travel this summer so it would be like a food trip with the boys instead. Gonna spend some hard earned money on food for this special weekend for me

To all MOTHERS out there… a blessed, love-filled and meaningful Mother’s Day to you!

As I have mentioned, this afternoon was an orientation that we attended with the little kid as part of the kiddie crew workshop that he will have next week. When they were asked to introduce themselves, he was asked what was his favorite hobby or past time. He quietly answered play soccer after he paused for a few seconds. He wants to play soccer again. I think he missed playing soccer actually after we let him stop because the doctor said he has asthma.

I hope that won’t actually be a hindrance. I wish to let him continue with his love for soccer and who knows one day soon he will come home with a soccer trophy with a win with his soccer team. If only the new big school has a soccer sports program. But for now we just might have to find a club where he could continue to train and play not just for fun but for the love of the soccer sport for life.

We came home from the little boy’s orientation for a kiddie crew workshop and a little time out. We had an early dinner since we only had a brunch a few hours ago. The sky covered with dark clouds is threatening to have a heavy downpour in a few hours so I decided we should head home early. Plus I still have laundry to finish and waiting back at home for me.

As soon as we came home I went straight to the laundry area and back to the house chore duty. I tried not to think about getting physically tired and tried to forget about the pain in my back. Yes standing while doing chores could easily take its toll on my back given I have a mild S. I try not to think about it especially when I am doing house chores since there is no help around the house to take over except for hubby.

Good thing he offered to take over. I would not have given in since he still has to go to work in awhile but my back is telling me to take a rest. It has been bothering me lately I don’t know why and I wish I can just continue to ignore it but it really makes me feel the pain. But I have to continue to work. It’s my duty. I just need to rest and work again. For now I will just have to let hubby take over if he offers otherwise I just have to tell him I cannot take it anymore and need to rest, chores have to wait for awhile and as I said good if he takes over.

The electric fan that is actually my sister’s yet has been acting like it is about to totally give up from functioning. It can really get so hot this summer over here and with the electric fan on most of the time when the air conditioner is not turned on, I guess we should not be surprised that it would need some fixing anytime soon. I tried to open it a few days ago when a nut fell off probably had become loose over time.

My dad had been asking me if we have any spare flange nuts kept which is one of those many tooling components. It comes in different materials and types to fit the tool you need. I do remember having found a few pieces before but I cannot simply remember where they were stored. It would be easier to just buy a few new ones which my dad could use.

The last time we tried to clean the fan, some parts were already showing signs of needing repair and replacement. There are times when the fan would not even turn when you switch it on. I am just glad that I have my dad who I can immediately rely on for help when it comes to fixing these kind of things such as this box fan we have in the house.

We recently tried this 1 kg of Julianne Premium Seven Tonner Rice which we bought at SM during one of our grocery trips there.

It is more expensive though at around P55 per 1 kilo pack. The variety of this rice is IR-64 and was milled by HRM Inc. We have tried eating Julianne rice before when I was still living at my parents house and we would usually buy our grocery at SM then a few years ago.

I like this rice. We just noticed though it just seems so heavy for the tummy when you eat this rice when it’s cooked compared to the usual seven tonner rice that we usually buy elsewhere. The first time we cooked this it was a little moist. I’d love to eat this again, wish it is more affordable or let’s say cheaper. *wink*

A friend of mine showed me a few beads jewelry that she made herself while we were in school waiting for our kids summer class to end a few days ago. I have been interested in trying this possible new hobby that my friend said makes her earn some extra income while she gets to enjoy making them as well.

I have seen recently this wholesale jewelry store online that sells European style beads, charms, bracelets, necklaces and rings that can show anyone’s own distinct style and personality. My friend would get many inspirations for her bead jewelry from there. Once again she encouraged me to just try it and who knows I may just learn to love this hobby with beads that could possibly turn into a money-making activity.

It is the first day of May already. The month May for us parents with kids in school means enrollment month. Tomorrow starts the enrollment at the new, big school of the little boy. I think a lot of parents have been saving for the tuition fees of their kids. I can relate now.

Hubby and I have been trying to decide if we pay in full given the 15% discount for the time sked for K2 which we chose since the little boy is still more adjusted to the afternoon class, plus if we will take advantage of the 5% discount given by the school for those who will pay in full upon enrollment though it is quite a lump sum amount. Yet there is a difference of around 5K plus for the whole year. It will make us save some significant amount of money if we pay in full for the whole year. Then up next for the coming months still… save, save, save.

My friend was asking me if I could recommend any store where they can canvass and buy trophies and awards to give during their company’s summer sports fest next month. I think I do remember those trophies at AwardsForAnything.com and I immediately sent her a message through Facebook to check that site out especially for those who are looking for an awards retailer online. You can also shop here for trophies for corporate event awards. They do accommodate rush orders, free engraving, and free shipping on areas where it applies. If you order ten or more then you can avail of free logo setup.

I sure hope that my friend will find what they need and that they will have a blast during their summer sports fest!

This is the alternative choice we have for a dining cum working table for me and the little boy. Only it costs almost thrice as much as the one I want. That spells a lot of difference. I could buy almost three dining set of my choice for the price of this one. It would also take up so much space than we could allow in the table that it will replace in my working space.

We just have to scout around for who knows we may find in other malls a much better alternative. I don’t have the budget for this one. I need financial backup from a generous sponsor first. It will be enrollment already in a few weeks. So this may just have to wait.

A recent trip to the furniture store of a mall nearby reminded the little boy of the glider that they have on display upon entering the store. It is really similar to the patio gliders at PorchSwings.com that I found last night. The little boy would take his time to enjoy sitting on it upon entering and before leaving the said store.

It would be nice to have a patio glider like that one and I am really sure the little boy would constantly be outside the house to sit on it while playing something in the Galaxy Tab perhaps or on the iPod Touch. But I want us to sit there, enjoy the weather under the shade in this hot summer while doing some loud reading. Otherwise we could just sit there, relax and enjoy the morning or afternoon summer breeze. I may just have to put a cushion on it in order for us to be more comfortable sitting on the glider.
